Chen Zhu was born in Fuzhou, Fujian in 1976. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Fujian Normal University in 1998 and graduated from the Material Expression Studio of the Oil Painting Department of the Central Academy of Fine Arts in 2011. In 2013 and 2015, at the invitation of Austrian and Irish government resident projects, he went to Salzburg, Austria and Dublin, Ireland for further study visits.
